Someone called me pretending to be WhatsApp support and I gave them my OTP code. Now they have my account. What do I do? 📱 Account Recovery · Most Common
Act immediately — you have a window of 30–60 minutes before they fully lock you out.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and go to Settings → Account → Two-Step Verification → Enable a PIN immediately if still possible.

Step 2: If you cannot access WhatsApp, re-register with your own phone number. WhatsApp will send a new 6-digit code to your SIM. Enter it to reclaim the account — this logs out the hacker.

Step 3: After recovery, immediately enable 2FA (Two-Step Verification) with a PIN you have never used before, and link a recovery email.

Step 4: Alert your contacts that your account was hacked and they should ignore any messages asking for money or codes.

If you cannot recover on your own, apply for our free help below — we recover WhatsApp accounts every day.

My TikTok account was hacked and the hacker changed the phone number and email. How do I get it back? 🎵 TikTok Recovery
TikTok account recovery when email and phone have been changed requires a formal identity verification process directly with TikTok's support team.

Step 1: Go to TikTok's Help Centre → "Can't access this account" → "I don't have access to my phone number or email"

Step 2: TikTok will ask you to verify your identity with a government-issued ID and a selfie video where you follow their face check prompts.

Step 3: You will need to provide: your original username or phone number, approximate date of account creation, and examples of content you posted.

Step 4: The process typically takes 5–10 business days. If TikTok's standard flow is not working, we have direct escalation contacts at TikTok's legal portal. Apply for our free help and we will handle the escalation on your behalf.

Is it safe to use the same password for all my social media accounts? 🔑 Password Safety
No — this is one of the most dangerous things you can do online.

When one platform is breached (which happens regularly, even to major companies), hackers take the leaked email and password combinations and automatically try them on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Gmail, banking apps, and more. This is called "credential stuffing" and it is extremely common.

What to do instead:
Use a simple system: take a base phrase you remember, then add a platform-specific suffix. For example: "Kampala2024!" becomes "Kampala2024!WA" for WhatsApp, "Kampala2024!FB" for Facebook, "Kampala2024!IG" for Instagram.

Even better: use a free password manager like Bitwarden (free) to generate and store unique passwords for every account.

Always combine this with 2FA on every platform.

Someone created a fake Facebook page using my name and photos. They are scamming my contacts. How do I remove it fast? 🚫 Fake Account Takedown
Fake Facebook account impersonation is reportable and removable — typically within 24–72 hours if reported correctly.

Step 1: Go to the fake profile → Click the three dots (•••) on their profile → "Find support or report" → "Pretending to be someone" → "Me" → Submit with as much detail as possible.

Step 2: Screenshot every post where they are scamming your contacts, and collect the URL of the fake profile.

Step 3: Ask your real contacts to also report the same profile (volume of reports speeds up removal).

Step 4: Post a clear notice on YOUR real profile warning your contacts about the fake account.

If Facebook's standard reporting is too slow or not working, our pro team can file a formal escalation with supporting documentation. Apply for free help below.

I received a Zoom invite from someone claiming to be from a UN organisation offering a job. Is this real? 📞 Vishing / Scam Alert
This is almost certainly a scam. "Fake Zoom interview" scams targeting Ugandans — especially posing as UNHCR, UN Women, UNICEF, WHO, and international NGOs — are extremely common and increasingly sophisticated.

Warning signs to watch for:
• You did not apply for the job they are interviewing you for
• They contacted you via WhatsApp or personal email (not an official domain)
• Their email domain ends in @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, or anything other than the official UN/NGO domain
• They ask for "registration fees", "processing fees", "medical fees", or any payment
• The interview is conducted via Zoom only (no in-person stage)
• They ask for your passport, national ID, or banking details before any contract

The UN and legitimate organisations will NEVER ask for payment of any kind during recruitment.

If you have already shared personal details or made any payment, contact us immediately for free guidance.
